Recruiting new volunteers
Paul’s Cancer Support Centre is a registered charity which for over 27 years has been providing support, information, education and complementary therapies to people whose lives have been touched by cancer.
The Home Visiting Service (HVS) offers massage, reflexology, spiritual healing, counselling and befriending to those who are too unwell or frail to come in to the Centre because they are undergoing treatment or receiving palliative care.
The HVS is offered to carers who are unable to leave the house for any length of time.
Although Wandsworth- based, the HVS takes referrals from surrounding Boroughs and has volunteers from across London.
Due to the increasing level of referrals, the HVS is recruiting new volunteers.
We offer a comprehensive training for volunteers, and supervision and support once practitioners are visiting clients.
The next training course for successful applicants will run from March to May 2012: the 40 hours of training are spread across 7 Thursday evenings and 4 Saturdays.
Once the training is completed, we ask volunteers to commit to 12 months with the Service: Each volunteer is matched with one client at a time, visiting on average of once a week for an hour, plus travelling time: the volunteer specifies the area they are able to travel to.
If you are interested in being part of the Home Visiting Service volunteer team, please contact Ruth or Clare for more information on email@example.com or 0207 924 3924, and to attend our
Open evening on 26th January.

|No one is forcing you to be charitable Patrick. London is a big place and if you are unable to find work perhaps you should think about your attitude towards others and the way in which you market yourself. Perhaps there is a correlation between the two?
I hope for your sake that if you are in need one day, you will come into contact with other humans that have different attitudes than yours.
