Massage during pregnancy

I have recently qualified as a holistic massage therapist. I have a lady who would like to have a massage but she is 10 weeks pregnant. What is the guidance on massage during pregnancy?

General rule of thumb is not in the first trimester and then after this with avoidance of the abdomen Seated massage or hydrotherm is best so she does not have to turn over. It’s a good idea to get specific training in Pre and post natal massage to give you confidence and the knowledge to support new mothers.
