Michael Sobell House Charity Event 21/3/10

Hello members –
I have received an appeal for help from the MICHAEL SOBELL HOUSE, Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood (please see below) for their 'Look Good, Feel Good' Charity Day.
It would be a super gesture if CThA therapists could pool resources and do a group attendance.
Do please let me or Joan [joanahern@nhs.net]know.
Thanks
Ameeta

Would you be interested in volunteering to help at the annual Michael Sobell House 'Look Good, Feel Good' Day, where members of the public pay for Complementary Therapy and Beauty Treatments, with all money raised going towards Michael Sobell House.

This year the event is on Sunday 21st March and we are looking for therapists to offer their time for either the morning or afternoon sessions or both. We are particularly in need of therapists to provide Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Facials, Manicures, Pedicures and Nail Art. However, Reiki and Indian Massage would also be much appreciated.

Michael Sobell house is a in patient unit and day therapy unit, providing care, medical treatment and respite for adults who have an incurable disease and their families. The patients we see predominantly have cancer, but not exclusively.

If you can help, it would be gratefully appreciated, please let us know what therapies you can offer and what times you are able to help. The sessions run from 9am-1pm/ 1pm-4pm. If you can help or would like to know more about this event, please email Joan Ahern (East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust) [joanahern@nhs.net].
Any therapists interested would need to contact one of the organisers ASAP as we have a limited number of positions available and are operating a 'by appointment in advance' system for the full-length treatments. However, if we can get enough therapists we are also hoping to have a range of 15 mins taster sessions available.
