Complementary Therapy Co-ordinator
(Salary: £21,000 - 24,000 p.a.)
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to join the Integrated Medicine Programme team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing integrated team consisting of more than 55 medical and therapy practitioners and researchers. The service is based on a unique integrated medicine model which has been developing since 1992. Aside from offering complementary therapies to adults and children living with life threatening and life limiting conditions, the programme is also actively involved in research and education. Educational activities include leading the Children’s Complementary Therapy Network (CCTN), and offering under and post graduate courses in integrated medicine. The successful applicant will work with the team comprising of the director, medical officers, therapists and researcher. The work is varied and spans over a number of projects. This includes, ongoing coordination of projects, client assessments, provision of therapies, coordination of therapists, training, networking, and project developmental work. Applicants must have minimum of a Diploma in a Complementary therapy (e.g. aromatherapy, massage, acupuncture) or equivalent, with an ability to be able to work under their own initiative. A flexible attitude to work and the ability to meet tight deadlines is important. Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be confident using Microsoft Office. Other training will be offered.
Complementary Therapists - Sessional Paid Work
(Sessional rates of pay – variable depending on the project – see job description)
Aromatherapists, Massage therapists and Reflexologists are invited to apply to join our bank of sessional therapists. Successful applicants will work with adult clients living with palliative or long-term care needs in a range of projects. Services are offered at our centre in Birmingham and in the client’s home. Ideally applicants will need to have a minimum of 18 months experience working in a relevant area, be flexible, ready to undergo training and have access to the use of a car.
