Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6w was founded in 1879 by the Sisters of Charity. We provide multi-disciplinary services in (1) Specialist Palliative Care incorporating In –patient, Day Hospice and Community Specialist Palliative Care Services, across our Harold’s Cross & Blackrock Hospice sites; (2) Care of the Older Person – Residential & Community Reablement Services; (3) Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases Unit.
Based in Complementary and Creative Arts Therapy Department
O.5 WTE Permanent x 3(Part- time)
We have a number of opportunities for Complementary Therapists to join our Complementary and Creative Arts Department. The Complementary Therapist provides massage and aromatherapy services alongside conventional treatments within the Palliative and Care of the Older Person services, with the aim of providing physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual support. The therapies are designed to offer relaxation, comfort and symptom relief, in order to improve the quality of patients and residents experience of living. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team of healthcare professionals delivering evidence based quality service to clients across two specialities. The post holder will be required to rotate between the specialities in Harold’s Cross and Blackrock sites.
a. Leaving Certificate Standard of Education.
b. Qualification in Massage
c. Qualification in Aromatherapy.
These qualifications must be recognised by a professional body e.g. IMTA/IFPA
d. Full Active Membership of a recognised Professional Complementary Therapy Association relevant to therapies required.
• At least two years Complementary Therapy practice post first qualification with minimum case load of 15 clients per week.
• Experience of providing complementary therapy in a relevant care setting.
