Hi June
I'm a newly qualified ITEC reflexologist and although I've missed your deadline for this message, perhaps you would consider me for other work. I'm very keen to gain experience. I am currently trying to build up my clients - not the easiest thing to do, but I'm staying very positive! I have my own Lafuma couch and currently work from home in South Norwood.
Best wishes

Hello Susan

I don't know if you have had any contact from the mobile massage company. I noticed they took a stand at the Boat Show last weekend and had people working there on a 'voluntary donations for therapies given basis'.

At The H Club, we too aim to help therapists gain work. Please read on to find out more about what we do.

The H Club is built of a registered membership of independent practitioners. It is a virtual Health Club !. It assists member practitioners to enhance their business opportunities and expertise in Therapies, Fitness, Nutrition, Stress and Lifestyle practices with meetings, talks, demonstrations, micro-experiences, CPD and helps them to promote their treatments to clients.

We are a club of wellbeing practitioners,
formed for wellbeing practitioners
and run by wellbeing practitioners

The H Club actively markets the services of all participating members who ask to be included in our promotional programmes. These include targeted leafletting campaigns, attendance at exhibitions and shows where we promote our member’s products and services, e-mail promotions, internet and web-directory promotions, events participation.

We also actively prepare press releases and editorial to promote The H Club as the premier co-operative of professional independent therapies and well-being practitioners in the country.

Through its reputation for quality practitioners, The H Club generates numerous enquiries from the public and passes contact details to appropriately qualified and located member practitioners as requested by prospective clients.

The H Club also has a number of marketing organisations who have approached us and with whom we have agreements whereby they help us generate new client opportunities. We participate in numerous voucher promotion schemes and have even been given exclusive UK coverage on some.

Clients select our independent member practitioners for their local sessions because of our reputation for quality service, name, brand image and growing size. We have over 100 members across the UK and are recruiting more.

The H Club runs a client matching service for all client enquiries. We screen client calls and ensure that medical conditions are identified up front. Members with appropriate skills, local to the client are identified and contacted to ascertain availability and skills match. Members are then passed the client contact details and make appropriate arrangements for the appointment directly with the client.

The H Club actively generates and co-ordinates work opportunities for teams of member practitioners.

Working in corporate, education and clinical situations, practitioner teams give head massages, on-site back massage, reflexology, stress reduction and Lifestyle/coaching sessions to name but a few. On-site contracts have included delivery within hospital, educational and business environments.

Both Gill and member practitioners of The H Club give talks and workshops on stress management, work-life balance, health, fitness and wellbeing.

Our reputation is so good, that The H Club was invited to deliver the Stress Management workshops for the Chartered Institute of Management at it’s first annual conference in 2005 and a number of talks on Marketing and Complementary therapies at British Beauty 2004 in the NEC.

The H Club advises corporate clients on matters relating to conference and exhibition demonstrations of complementary therapy micro-experiences. It co-ordinates and manages member practitioner teams delivering such activities.

Many of these have been to educational, medical and business professionals, including nurses and consultants at worldwide symposia throughout Europe, including Paris, Vienna, Madrid, Florence, Barcelona UK based work includes conferences from London to Glasgow, Edinburgh to York, Telford, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Harrogate and many more locations.

The H Club has received commissions and have had articles published on health and wellbeing topics for Woman’s Health, The Woman, Salon Magazine, International Therapist, Knutsford Guardian and The Professional.

Gill continues to write editorial for The H Club for publication to promote awareness of complementary and holistic wellbeing practices and techniques in relation to health care choices and development.

Indeed, during 2003, The H Club was commissioned by the Federation of Holistic Therapists to author and produce its press releases.

Gill has guest lectured for The H Club at Bradford University School of Health Studies, on complementary health and dementia care. Her lecture topics were recorded and used on the post graduate distance learning video for Dementia Care.

Member practitioners have the opportunity to access our knowledge of therapies and conditions, how to treat pregnant clients, etc etc by e-mail, telephone or face to face.

The H Club is actively involved in the promotion of professional practice in the field of complementary health and well-being. Our web site is under development and will include advertising of members services by location.

Elected General Secretary during 2003-2004 of the General Council for Massage Therapies, our founder has continued to urge practitioners to welcome regulation and registration of professional practice.

The H Club keeps member practitioners in touch with the evolving trends and conditions relating to professional practice in our field. We actively update members on areas such as: pricing, regulation, Continued Professional Development, insurance and National Occupational standards.

The H Club provides a mentoring network for independent wellbeing practitioners including giving free access to advice on business development, service/therapy delivery, quality standards, marketing and other related matters.

Our sharing of experience and skills includes comment on the best and worst courses, cost effectiveness of the numerous advertising offers members receive, how to avoid scam offers and much, much more. Our members can access vastly reduced, certificated training in topics ranging from First Aid to Reiki.

The H Club fully supports accreditation and quality improvement within the complementary health, fitness, coaching and lifestyle professions.

Indeed, as a representative for the Professional Association of Clinical Therapists, our founder member worked closely to assist GCMT in its quest to become the Lead Body in Voluntary Regulation of Body Work Therapies including Massage with the aim of raising standards and appropriately accrediting courses for professional practice.

Every THC Member Practitioner is professionally qualified in their chosen areas and carries full professional indemnity insurance.

The H Club is actively involved in promoting knowledge and delivering wellbeing sessions in the community and assisting individuals to make an informed choice with regard to Integrated Healthcare and selection of professionally accredited and trained practitioners.

In 2004, our founder was solely responsible for developing four health and wellbeing courses accredited by the Open College Network. Student and Social Memberships are available to those who do not hold any appropriate professional qualifications but are interested in our activities.

Further, The H Club offers its members vastly reduced rate access to training courses from qualified teachers. If they wish to participate, members can access courses to help develop business skills and to maintain professional accreditation, ie First Aid Certification, Reiki Certification and training in a whole range of other areas, including Business development, Anatomy & Physiology and Diet and Nutrition.

In 2005, The H Club’s work was recognised after numerous nominations for the Positive Action Awards North West.

Organised by Warrington Disability Partnership, organisers of Disability Awareness Day (Europe’s largest voluntary led Independent Living Exhibition) supported by the Northwest Regional Development Agency, the awards recognise exemplary practice in the field of employment, service delivery and individual merit.
