Tuesday 16th March - Speaker Details

Our March meeting will include a talk and demonstrations from Harry Dalford on Trager.

The Trager Approach is a method of mind body education designed to reintegrate the body into the awareness of the mind. So often people ignore aches and pains until the body really has to produce pain to get noticed.

Trager work brings greater awareness and helps to unlock old patterns of tension, structural misalignment and induces a deep feeling of ease and peace. The reconnection to the "feeling" body and recall techniques enable the client to replace feelings of stress with those of pleasure. The whole body is addressed as an integrated unit and self care exercises called Mentastics ® enable the client to recreate the feelings at home.

Harry is a qualified Civil Engineer and admits to being a natural sceptic. He prefers to see, feel, and understand something before he would consider endorsing it.

As a Martial artist (of 30+ year’s practice of Aikido) he is familiar with many ways to move and work with the human body.

He has tried many forms of massage, bodywork and ‘healing’. These were (for the most part) very nice, some were more comfortable than others but they did not quite hit the spot.
However, following his first treatment he experienced a new awareness and inspiration.
When he attended a Trager Level 1 training he found the “Work” wonderfully fascinating in the simplicity and logical approach to the benefits for his body (both as giver and receiver) and the bodies of others.

As a licensed Trager Practitioner Harry has found that the more he learns, the more curious he becomes.
