Amatsu is Amazing for All! It is a gentle, scientific and effective therapy combining a number of different techniques and is based on Japanese traditions practised for over 2000 years. At the heart of Amatsu, there is an understanding of the Law of Facilitation, which is, that the nervous system maintains any imbalance in the body through habit formation. Amatsu re-patterns the body to redress that imbalance and then reinforces the new or relearned patterns.

Who should have Amatsu?
An Amatsu session aims to reduce pain and improve mobility and even people who experience a treatment believing they have no significant problems, will often feel ‘better balanced’. People of all ages benefit from Amatsu; it is gentle and safe to use with very young babies and children; it works equally well with adults and elderly people.
What is an Amatsu treatment like
Amatsu is a whole body treatment and takes into account the five Godai: the mind and emotions, nutrition, the environment, the physical body, and the flow of energy through the body.
First sessions begin with questions about a client’s medical background and current state of health. The client’s body posture is assessed both standing and lying on the couch; all this takes place with the clothes on. The Practitioner is looking for imbalances in the body’s picture. Assessment of these postural imbalances are then recorded using a variety of techniques: muscle testing, mobilisation of the limbs using gentle stretching movements, and the use of kyushu points, which are linked to various parts of the body and can be, but are not necessarily linked, to acupressure points and are unique to every individual.
Each person’s needs are different and only your own body knows what it needs. Amatsu uses this knowledge to awaken your body’s ability to heal itself. Physical and emotional tensions caused by past and present traumas become locked in the body. Amatsu allows these to be released, enabling you to cope more effectively with your life now. The aim of Amatsu is to promote optimum health through all-round balance.
