meeting 28th June 2010 at Altrincham

A meeting was held at Altrincham Leisure Centre in the cafe bar for members. The meeting was attended by a small number of members and non members. A big thank you to those who attended. A number of apologies for absence were received thank you for informing your local co-ordinator Elizabeth Farrow.

Susan Leigh Hypnotherapist attended to provide an overview of her work and also marketing guru Caroline Evers to provide marketing and promotional support. Caroline will be hosting marketing surgeries in Greater Manchester and Cheshire during the summer for a special fee of £25, which provides small and start up business one to one advice to overcome hurdles and make the best of new opportunities. Anyone interested in booking a session with Caroline can contact me for further information.

The turnout was most disappointing given that many members had previously asked for the Monday evening instead of daytime and weekends. I appreciate that everyone has busy lives but it is important that we all support these events whenever we can. The next meeting will be held on Monday 27th September at 7.30. The end of year meeting will be held on Monday 29th November at 7.30. Both of these future events will be held in the cafe bar at Altrincham Leisure Centre Oakfield Road Altrincham WA15 8EW.

During the meeting we looked at therapeutic practices, the use of counselling skills and supervision. It is most important that we must remember that many organisations and validating bodies awarding qualifications insist on supervision and continuing professional development as mandatory. Members can obtain certificates of attendance from such meetings, which does count towards cpd.

Our next meeting will focus on business development student support, mentorship, continuing professional development therapist support and supervision. The meetings are informal providing a networking opportunity for members and non members to exchange information followed by a more formal meeting for members. Anyone interested in joining the groups can check it out on face book or contact me at

Sorry I wasn't able to make the meeting but Mondays is my busiest night for clients.

I was wondering if you could help. I am looking for therapists who want some paid work. I need massage therapists to work at a sports event in south Manchester/Cheshire area in September.

Would you be able to ciculate my requirement to anyone in the group in Altrincham please ?.

If interested, could they contact me by e-mail with their name, therapy details, telephone number to:
