Unfortunately tonight’s meeting has been cancelled. I sprained my ankle yesterday, which prompted me to consider cancelling our meeting via the C Th A forum in view of the fact that;
I have received apologies for absence from some of our ‘pro-active’ attendees. In addition to this the non members who often support our groups were not invited on this occasion as it was felt that members ONLY should be invited on the last meeting of the year.
• To reflect on the year in terms of the growth and development of the group
• To reflect on how we as a group function, attract new members and support each other as professionals including mentoring students.
• To update members of my work this year as the local/regional Co-ordinator
• To update members in terms of the seminars I have been delivering throughout UK & Ireland
• To set a PLAN OF ACTION for our events and meetings next year.
I have arranged an evening on Thursday 16th December at 7.30 pm when we can enjoy a mince pie a glass of wine and or tea or coffee. The event will take place at The George & Dragon Manchester Road Altrincham WA14 4PH , which has car parking facilities and is adjacent to bus stops. The cost of this event will be £5.00 payable on the evening including the refreshments. If you wish to attend the event please notify me by Monday 06th December 5 pm to reserve a place and ensure the meeting goes ahead. If insufficient members (fewer than 6) book a place the meeting will be cancelled.
I have received offers of meeting venues; during the day at a cafe bar in Altrincham on a Monday. I have also received an offer to meet at a Complementary Therapy Centre in Hale Village during the evenings. I plan to deliver networking events at the George & Dragon and aim to provide workshops and clinics for ongoing support, supervision, Continuing professional development training and practical business advice. Although our meetings have in the past ALWAYS been FREE to you as members they have not been without cost to me. The Complementary Therapy Association aims to support the growth of the local and Regional groups but does not financially support them as it is understood the groups themselves will generate interest, contribute to the running of them and be self sufficient by hosting fund raising events etc., Our charity next year will be The George Hardwick Foundation. I will explain at our meeting how we aim to support this worthwhile charity.
In the new year I will be populating a FACEBOOK page with the help of the C Th A this will provide information and opportunities for members to exchange ideas and network. All events, workshops and training will be advertised on the page.
I also hope to forge relationships with local colleges where we could meet some of the students and become involved in community based issues and develop our practices.
I will be joining forces with local marketing Guru and business specialist Carolyn Evers to see how practitioners can develop their practices in this difficult economic market.
I am happy to discuss any areas of interest or concerns that you might have – please send an e mail in the first instance.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE MEETING SCHEDULED FOR 16TH DECEMBER WILL ONLY TAKE PLACE IF THERE IS SUFFICIENT INTEREST
