Introduction to Deep Tissue Massage Techniques
Deep Tissue Massage Techniques
with Angela Mooney
Would you like to learn techniques for those clients that require more pressure?
Deep tissue massage is a style of massage that is used to relieve tension in the muscles and fascia by focusing on the deeper layers of tissue.
It is often recommended for people who are experiencing consistent pain or who are involved in physical activity (e.g. sports) to address problems caused by chronic
tension. It can increase the mobility of joints and the flexibility of muscles as well as
improve postural imbalances.
On this 2 day course we will show you the techniques that can be incorporated into your existing routine straight away enabling you to work at a deeper level using elbows, fists and forearms safely, efficiently and with confidence. The techniques gained will make a profound difference to your current treatments and turn a good massage into an amazing massage.
You will also learn how to apply maximum pressure with minimum strain to the
therapist, the contra-indications to deep tissue massage and how to work on specific problems taken from actual clinical case histories such as knee pain & headaches.
