Positive Voice Edinburgh Area Volunteers
Positive Voice (PV) is a self-help organization for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and/or Hepatitis C situated on Montrose Terrace in Edinburgh that has been established for almost 20 years. PV takes a holistic approach to the wellbeing of its members and as well as offering social and emotional peer support and individual advocacy we also provide complementary therapies. At the moment members can access oil massage on Mondays between 12 and 4pm and Tui-Na, oil massage, Reiki and Craniosacral on Tuesdays between 1pm and 3pm at a cost of £8 per therapy. Unfortunately not all our members can afford this reduced rate
or access the centre on these days. We are looking to welcome
volunteer complementary therapists that would add to the therapies that are currently provided and make them more accessible to members who
cannot afford to pay the fee. Ideally we would like to recruit two
therapists and are particularly keen to hear from reflexologists that could share their skills with PV members on alternate Monday evenings
and offer two sessions between 6pm and 8pm. If you are interested but
Mondays aren't suitable we would still be very keen to hear from you.
A full induction in volunteering at Positive Voice will be given. PV will also consider making a contribution to your insurance and volunteer expenses are available.
If you are interested and want to join a team of committed volunteers
and staff and meet some great people, please contact Lynne.
