essential oils for respiratory tract infection caused by pseudomonas auriginosa

A 74 year old man with a resistant chest infection has been found to have a pseudomas infection in his sputum.He is receiving antibiotics and hospital consultant treatment. Are there any specific essential oils or herbal treatment which will help him to combat this infection?
