Summary of meeting 26th Feb


Firstly thank you everyone for attending. Thank you also for apologies received. Issues discussed: - Training days: topics planned so far: stress management, podiatry, cranial sacral therapy. Information technology in your practice - Advertising: as agreed I will feed back in my report to HQ that we need better advise on ASA and trading standards - Regulation: all discussed staying on top of voluntary and statutory developments - Marketing: discussed online sites, leaflets, word of mouth, promotions - therapy swaps: again interest expressed for therapy swaps and mutual support / supervision - clinic closures and threat of closures: if anyone hears their base is under threat, please shout to the forum for support regarding getting a new place to practice - insurance: if anyone knows of a good home business insurer, please post details to forum Outcomes: I will report back to HQ regarding advertising standards issue Please can someone start a thread regarding therapy swaps: state what you want and what you are offering Please also if interested, someone do the same regarding peer supervision. Please can people continue to post their websites, and any FB / twitter addresses so those who can may support and recommend these. If in my migrained state I have forgotten anything - please can someone reply to this message indicating it. Cheers Stuart ( & Denise)

Thanks Stuart and Denise for all your input. I don't think you have missed anything out. I can offer a herb walk - when it's a bit warmer! The Water of leith is very near our Starbucks venue. Also, I will start a thread on offering my therapy swap. Moira
Love the idea of a herb walk!!! Definitely a great idea if we can do it at a warmer time :) Denise and I grow and use a lot of herbs so of personal interest to us too! Also nearer the time if you could recommend a reasonably priced book or guide to go along with it so we can recommend it as a revision guide! Do not want people wandering off and poisoning themselves because they forgot your advice! Cheers Stuart
