Cancer and Palliative Care for Complenetary Therapists
Statistics show that one in three people will develop cancer and that around 30% of all people with a cancer diagnosis will use complementary therapies alongside their conventional treatment. We are offering a study day called Cancer and Complementary Therapaists held on 18 June 2013. This day is aimed at qualified therapists (aromatherapy, massage, reflexology) who have an interest in, or are new to, this specialist area.
Topics will include:
cancer and the cancer journey
the palliative care approach
communication issues
adaptation of complementary therapies and
self-care for the therapist.
Application will be made for this course to be approved by Complementary Therapists Association (CThA) at an advanced level.
NB This day offers an introduction to adapting therapies to the cancer and palliative care setting and does not involve practical demonstrations.
