Pick fresh lavender and see steam distillation in the field: July 31 Carshalton, Surrey
We had a wonderful time last year picking fresh lavender in Carshalton with members from around London. There are stalls with lavender products there as well and you will be able to buy lavender distilled on-site. If you've never seen a still in action, come and have a look. Picnicing among the lavender bushes is a heavenly experience. Carshalton Lavender is a community based project run by volunteers. You can pick lavender to buy or to go into their own distillation as they always need volunteer pickers. Friends and family welcome to come along.

You might want to bring your own scissors to cut the lavender, though you can get them there too.
The fields are based in allotments, please follow the map below! The entrance to the lavender field in Stanley Road Allotments is via the gate next to South Carshalton Day Centre just off Oaks Way, Carshalton Beeches, SM5 4NQ
