Meetings

Hello - I would like to join the East Devon group, but I live in Exmouth. Tiverton is too far away for an evening meeting for me as I have Fibromyalgia. Is it possible you could sometimes move the venue?? Many thanks Liz Flynn

Dear Elisabeth, I have just picked up your message. So far we have held all our meetings in Tiverton. Our next meeting is on 27th of this month. I will put it to the meeting - it may well freshen things up for us and we may gain some extra members by moving the venue around the region a bit. I will also discuss this with our other co-ordinator Anne Crease and see how she feels. Dear Liz, Thank you for your message, I am sorry I have been late in replying - we have been away for the last few days. I did put the possibility of moving our meetings occassionally to other venues to our group meeting but the feeling was that they wished to keep the single venue as it is central to the widw area we seem to be covering. We do have a member that comes up from Exeter. I am wondering whether it might be possible to make some arrangements with Nigel. We also draw members from Taunton as well so you can appreciate the difficulty we have. I can raise the issue again - but i feel the feeling will not have changed. Marie Curie have made us most welcome and the facilities there are superb for our needs. I am sorry this seems so negative, please keep in touch. I will have a word with Nigel if you think that may be a feasible solution. Best wishes Viv

Thanks Viv, but don't worry Nigel - It would still be rather too late getting home, and I wouldn't want him to have to come a 20-mile round trip out of his way!! Glad you have a good venue - one to hang on to maybe! I do belong to an Exmouth group of therapists (but only about 3 of us are Embody members), so I am not alone here!! Best wishes Liz

Hi Liz, I am sorry that we are unable to sort something out - perhaps there is a need to start a group in the South Devon/Exeter area. We have had enquiries from people in the Torbay area as well. I am keeping your details on file if that is OK so that if anything changes we can contact you. Thank you for your interest and your good wishes. We are hoping to hold a workshop on The Inner Child and Motivation lead by Hypnotherapist and Counsellor, Pat Hoare. Would be on a Saturday 10-4. Any use to you? at Tiverton though. Cost £10 bring a packed lunch. To be held in July probably. All the best Viv

Dear Sarah, Sorry that I have been slow in replying to your message, I have been away. Yes our meeting in January is going ahead. We have Dr Michael Dixon talking to us on the usr of Complementary Therapies in the NHS 7.30 Wednesday January 31st. Our meetings are usually on a Tuesday evening, but we have changed it this once as Dr Dixon can not manage Tuesdays as he is in London. We meet at Marie Curie House, The Avenue, Tiverton. We would love to see you and we will certainly send you details of our meetings. Anne Creaase the other co-ordinator for this area is very good at sending out group emails. Never mind at least here in Exmouth those of us who volunteer at the Quiet Mind Centre do get together now and then and, of course, can have a chat when we're working there so I guess we're luckyin that respect.
