Massage and Alcohol

Hi, I am a trained massage therapist and have recently been asked to do massage on people who drink (long term alcoholics) I am trying to find research and definite answers on the correct procedure for this. Thank you Amy

As a general rule if a person has drunk alcohol then it is a contraindication for massage. I am assuming that the people you will be massaging are giving up alcohol. I found this article below that explains the effects of alcohol and the effects of massage on the body. https://www.zeel.com/blog/lifestyle/your-best-massage/mixing-alcohol-and-massage/
