Terms and Conditions of Business
Does anyone have a template for complementary therapists terms and conditions of business as I have been advised by my accountant that I ought to have a client sign one of these rather than just the consultation form and disclaimer. I know not many people would want to trawl through two or three pages - how many of us do? Is there a more distilled version I could use. Happy Christmas. Mel

I've never come across this. My instinct is to beware of getting too formal - it may be offputting. Your medical checklist should surely be enough as it covers the remit of your business dealings, and if you have an invoice, that should have payment terms and a note about standard late payment charges on it, so I can't see what on earth else you would need.
The only other thing I have on the checklist are the follwoing questions which might have an impact if there is a problem :
Why are you seeking this complementary therapy?
Does your accountant specialise in working for therapists as clients? If he does, and we're all missing a trick, I'd really like to share!

Bother - hit the wrong button, so hadn't finished and didn't mean to insert it twice! Sorry. the other addition was tot he questions on my form - the 2nd being
Are you consulting any other complementary therapists (eg homeopath, reflexologist)? - that way, if I used Black Pepper oil whihc negates homeopathy, and they hadn't told me they were seeing a homeopath, it wouldn't be my fault.
Hello Amanda, no she isn't a therapy a/ctnt and I feel justified in not having to have set ts & cs and I do have a comprehensive questionnaire which takes into account your two questions...... thank you for your feedback and happy christmas and a prosperous new year! Mel
