Licence required to practise massage?

Hello Folks I'm about to set up, having recently arrived in the area but have been hearing talk of a licence being required to practise massage. I know this has been around in London for some years and probably other parts of (southern) England, but does it apply in Scotland too? Have I missed a trick? I know there are moves to set up a self-regulating licensing body for aromatherapy...but an obligatory parting of cash for massage? Sorry, but it sounds like another excuse to rip off already hard-working fee-paying professionals!!
