Tayforth Meeting 24 September
Thanks to all those who turned up for this meeting - a total of 4. Thanks, too, to those who sent in their apologies. Hope to see more of you at the next meeting (26 November, 10-12). The scheduled talk was on Manual Lymphatic Drainage. However, if this doesn't go ahead, I will do a session on Colour Breathing.
We watched a video and had a hands-on session on Tuina (Chinese Massage). This was followed by a discussion on the future of the group, given the poor support so far. It was decided to continue our bi-monthly meetings for next year, at least. If anyone knows of a complementary therapy related speaker who is willing to talk/demonstrate for an hour (free!), please let me know. We will continue to meet at the Volunteer Centre, Kirkcaldy, but there will be a £3 fee for members and £4.00 for non-members attending meetings from next year. This is to cover the cost of room hire which, up to now, has been free. Embody have very kindly provided the Public Liability Insurance we also need for the purpose.
We discussed the galloping progress made by the AC (Aromatherapy Consortium) towards regulation (2006) and how this might affect us. There is an article on this in the latest edition of The Therapist. If you don't subscribe, then I would suggest you have a look at the AC website.
